Heatsink fans spin up for a few seconds then stops no beeps. (First build)

i Finally put together my first build. However when i power it on the heatsink cpu fan spins up for a few seconds stops then Trys to start again.(Witch it doesn't) Specs: http://www.amazon.com/AMD-A8-5600K-3-6Ghz-Processor-AD560KWOHJBOX/dp/B0095VPAVE/?tag=logicaincrem-20, http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-A85X-Hudson-Motherboard-GA-F2A85X-D3H/dp/B00A67GUZG/?tag=logicaincrem-20, Kingston 4gb hyper X ram (single stick) i was testing the wattage on my psu earlier and it Sparked inside the psu while my mobo was attached. so im not sure if my mobo is dead.

the mb or power supply telling you there a dead short somewhere. check that you used the mb standoffs. if you have an older power supply try that one. if somthing sparked in your power supply dont use it.

I am using the standoff's i however do not have acess to a diffrent power supply atm.(only other other one i have is like 4 pins too small. so im guessing i fryed my psu? :V

Hello me again. i noticed that i might have not installed the mb standoffs? i just screwed in the mobo with the screws that came with the case. so im not sure if those also work as standoffs?

Ah nevermind the corsair 200R has built in MB standoffs

Me Again :\ can't i send my mobo and my psu into their respected companys to get them checked to see if they are fryed?
