Hello everybody!

I’m looking for some assistance in regards to building a new PC.

I would be looking for a PC which is able to stream to 3 or 4 different YouTube channels either via VMWare or multiple instances of OBS. Note I will only be streaming pre-recorded content but will have overlays (follower notification etc).

With both Ryzen 9 3900x and i9 9900k being around £360 here in the U.K. I was considering pairing one of these with either 16 or 32gb of ram and a fairly decent GPU.

Ive got around a £1200 budget. I know there’s lots of streaming builds around but not that specialises in this sort of area.

Any help appreciated,

George.

EDIT: This was the general prospective build I'd put together and I'd appreciate some feedback if you have a few mins!

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x
RAM: 32GB Hyperx 3200mhz
GPU: RX 590 Fatboy8gb (Uncle is selling me a refurb cheap)
Mobo: Asus ROG b450-F AM4
SSD: 240GB Samsung Evo
Corsair: 750w PSU
CPU Cooler: I've got a spare watercooler lying about

Managed to get all this fit into my £1200 budget, whats your guys opinion?

Do not do a 9900k. If you want Intel, go with a 10700k. Basically a 9900k with better thermals. Also, 4th gen ryzen is getting released Nov. 5th.

If you do not want to wait, for that budget, you could do something like this.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor (£281.58 @ Aria PC)
CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. B 51.17 CFM CPU Cooler (£48.94 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard (£139.97 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory (£137.99 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Intel 665p 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£91.48 @ Senetic)...

Unfortunately, I don't know if you'll be able to build with a 3900X or 10900K/9900K in that price bracket. You'd want to use the NVENC encoder for streaming on a modern PC, so that high caliber CPU isn't really necessary. Instead, you may want to go for something like a 3700X with a 3080 for better performance. Something like this would be great, and should have no problem doing those tasks. It's in USD, on American versions of sites, but those components should give you the best performance in the budget.

Hey iiSlashr,

Thanks for your input!

Would you suggest better GPU as opposed to better CPU even though I wont be streaming gameplay live only pre-recorded?

I'm not the best with stream settings and what works best particularly as my needs are quite niche so feel free to educate me :)

Thanks so much for your build you've put together for me (looks very nice indeed). If I had available funds would you suggest spending the extra for the Ryzen 9 when I can get hold of it?
