TV: Magnavox 32" LCD (32MF231D/37)

Okay so I finally got my OS running, and everything is fine and dandy at my friend's house. I go to my place to set up on my LCD. I start choosing some different resolutions to see which one fits best. I noticed on the high ones, it starts to vibrate, so i chose a lower res, 1280x768 i think, and it stoped vibrating. Except for on lil blur type stretch on my facebook thumbnail pic, but it was good. so then i started to see if maybe it would work with another lower res, and I chose 13??x768 i think. and then it just went blank!!!!!!!
I freak out a lil bit, restart a few times, then gave up and went to bed. I wake up, and I start in safe mode, uninstall the driver, restart, then install it again..... and its still blank
it works in safe mode, works with my laptop, but just refuse to work for my tower now.... I'm about to pull my hair out, help meh please

I had a very similar problem just recently. My monitor suddenly went blank when I was using it and I had no clue what was happening. Like you, I was only able to start in safe mode. Here's the long story short (based off what happened to me, since your problem is VERY similar):

- Its not the monitor, its the tower. When this was happening, I did everything you did, but I also hooked up a different monitor to my tower, and that didn't work either. The monitor should be fine.

- Your video card is most likely causing these problems. I went into safe mode and ran a scan and it told me that the problem was located in my video card.

This same thing happened about 3 weeks ago to me, and I'm currently looking at new graphics cards (settled on the GT 640). Hopefully I will fix mine soon and that will shed some light on the subject.

What brand/version is your tower? This will help out in choosing a new video card if that is in fact your problem.

If you have any questions, let me know. I will check back and let you know if I come up with anything else.

Good luck! :)
