Hello friends i would like your openion about the software that i should install to have a better preformance and for security

it would be my first pc build so i would like your help to choose an 64bit operating s/w as well as antivirus s/w and others that will help me...I want to use it for best gaming experience

Well Windows is the immediate choice for OS. You may want Windows 8.1 for its extra security and style, but most gamers go with Windows 7. Keep in mind that Windows 10 is due for release in the coming months.

For security, I have found McAfee to be faultless.

DO NOT install Windows XP: Microsoft has ceased support for it and thus no updates will be given. You will get a virus and there is little you can do about it.
Get windows 7 or 8.1.

No reason to install Win XP these days.

I use both Win 7 and Win 8.1 on different computers. For a new build, I would go with 8.1. With the free ClassicShell software, Win 8.1 kind of becomes Win 7.5.
