Hello Guys... (Raid 1 need to use different drive size)

I have 72 GB drive in RAID 1... Planning to increase the space with 300 GB drive.
My plan is remove one 72 GB drive from the mirroring and incert 300GB... it will be mirroring (72 GB - 300 GB )and after mirroring planning to remove that 72 GB drive and add 300 GB .
Will i get 300 GB space ?

Hi, Never tried it, but it should work. Not sure if the remaining amount will be available.
Why not clone the 72, set the 300 RAID with 2 partitions (72 and whatever) and restore to the 72?
However, either option, make sure you backup your data.

Most likely wont... unless you RAID engine support expand volume function. Otherwise BEST is create a NEW RAID1 with 300GB then move the data over
