Hi guys my friend brought a new pc
Specs are following
CPU Phenom II X6 SixCore 1055T 2.8 9mb
Motherboard GA-MA790XT-UD4P F8c-F8D bios
DDR3-1333 PC10600 Corsair 8GB (4 x 2GB
Deskstar NCQ 1TB 32mb 7200rpm
Antec TruePower Quattro 1000wAntec TruePower Quattro 1000w
XFX HD5970 DualGPU 2Gb black edition

Now the problem is the gpu isn’t performing as is should or (CPU)
3D mark 06 score is 17708
SM2 2.0 score 6098
HDR/SM3.0 score 9111
Cpu score 5102
Which is low compared to others
We have formatted the pc,updated bios, reinstalled older and new drivers for gpu, installed newest frame net on also on crysis benchmark tool
Settings as
1920* 1080 Very high and x0 =average 30 ( on Gpu benchmark map)

Now I have an amd system to 955 @ 3.7ghz and 4890 and my system is out performing this in 3D mark 06 and some other games to WTF!!!!!!
So do you guys have any idea on what could be causing this lack of performance (we cannot oc the cpu at this point due to BETA bios not letting us)
So any idea greatly appreciated :)

Did you check the box "enable crossfire" or something like that in the catalyst control center? I know you have to do that before you are running them in crossfire otherwise you are just running off of one chip.

Now I have an amd system to 955 @ 3.7ghz and 4890 and my system is out performing this in 3D mark 06 and some other games to WTF!!!!!!
Exact numbers would be useful so we can compare 5970 vs 4890 vs "somewhere in between 5850 and 5870 (which is where a single 5970 chip performs)"

I believe your motherboard is the problem, I just read this article on here not 20 minutes ago.

"We're using the Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P motherboard with an Athlon II X3 440 and the ASRock X58 SuperComputer with Intel's Core i7-920. Note that the 790X chipset on the Athlon board can't support full 16x PCI Express (PCIe) bandwidth for each graphics card. To keep things comparable, we put the second Radeon HD 5870 in a PCIe slot with 8x bandwidth when using CrossFire on the ASRock X58 board."

Nissan, that's for two PCI-e slots. The 5970 is a single PCI-e slot card.

I know that there is and that it is not auto enabled. It would not make sense for it to be auto enabled. My friend has crossfire 5970s. He had the same problem. The option should be there. Somewhere. Sorry I can't tell you exactly where.

Gotcha, I read DualGPU and automatically thought Crossfire for some reason. Good luck sir!

Are you certain that you have a HD 5970??!! The scores are not even close to what they should be. My first recommendation is to make certain you have the latest drivers, disable Microsoft's auto update driver installation, uninstall your drivers, and install the latest driver.

...my guess is your HD 5970 driver is messed-up from MS. ATI has always had driver installation issues for years...

NOTE - The ATI HD 5970, as described above is a "SINGLE" card with (x2) GPUs - Not to be confused with (x2) HD 5970 in Crossfire.

To have Crossfire or SLI (nVidia) you need to have 2-4 Matching individual cards physically "bridged", and unless you spent $1,400 ($700/ea) on your card(s) there's no crossfire. nVidia allows a non-matching nVida card as a Physx card.

Your CPU will score significantly less than most i7's, and I still feel that it's the drivers for your ATI. There are tons of 3D Mark scores and resolutions higher still have better scores. Also, your BIOS settings could be incorrect. If you build a system there are lots of unknown variables.

**Also, "IF" you are running your OS in 32-bit that will kill your scores. Not to mention your memory is limited to 4GB. Windows 7 out performs Vista, etc.**

Your info posted is limited.

its a 64 bit OS
and i think mebe the cpu is bottlenecking i will find out soon when i oc the 1055t to 4ghz
i have tried a few different drivers 10.5 also 10.3 and 10.2 same issue it seemed the higher i pushed my cpu the higher the card performed

Overclocking is what I assumed that you would do, but simply playing with a few settings in the BIOS and going straight to Super-Overclocking your CPU to 4GHz is NOT advised. Example I would expect that you will fry non finned cooled DDR ; if your memory is the "Dominator" you'll be okay, but even then I'd use a dedicated memory fan in 4GHz overclocking.

I built many systems for many uses and have destroyed expensive CPUs, Graphic Cards, Memory, MOBOs, etc. You will need to incrementally adjust the BIOs and run several stress tests to find a STABLE system. Besides forums I would go to YouTube and see people's rigs and see what they are doing and how they do it.

Just for kicks, review the ATI Installation guide - http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/737-20870HowtoInstallYourATIProduct.aspx

Next, compare your CPU with other benchmark tests, examples

Good Luck!!!!
