(Help) Accidentally pushed in pins on CPU fan before applying to motherboard

The title pretty much describes it. I bought a new motherboard and put the processor in. I then (heaven forbid) pushed the pins in on the CPU fan before putting it on the motherboard. Is there anyway to undo this with the intel pushpin CPU fans or am I screwed? Thanks :/

Pull the pins back out.

I don't have one right in front of me, but you can definitely do it.

I'm not so sure I can. The pins are locked in place. I can't turn the screws or pull them back out. The black part of the pins are protruding from the clear plastic part of the pins so i don't know if they are pushed too far are not. Should I post a picture?

you may have to hold the top of the pastic white pin with your finger or a needle nose players to pull the pin out if they wont come out if you turn the locking pin.

also use a screw driver (flat head) betwen the top of the white pin and the cooler and unlock the pin it should push out with very little force.

Try turning the plastic holders anti-clockwise, then pulling them out.

Or just try pushing it through the mobo as-is.

There's only two positions for the pins, if you look at the top the arrow points the way to unlock them so they can be released.

Surely the push-pins should just come loose by turning them? It's no different than removing the heatsink if it had been attached to the motherboard in the first place.
