I have Asus M11AD and yesterday i wanted to add another 4gb of ram so I got the ram and put it into the second ram slot in my pc. Then when i turn on my pc it works fine for about 10-15 minutes and then reboots. I would be glad if someone could help. thank you in advanced.

In short, you can't just buy any old stick of ram and put it into your computer and expect it to work properly. It's probably the case that your two sticks of ram have different timings and latencies, and they are not working together properly, which is causing your system to shut down unexpectedly.

Every stick of RAM has a rated speed in MHz and timing in CL, and if you want to install multiple sticks of RAM in your computer they must match in speed and timing.
First thing: 3 GB is a strange amount to add. How much RAM do you have total, and what configuration is it? When working with RAM you typically want to work in multiples of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, etc).

If your PC is 32bit, it won't recognize RAM more than 4gigs.. also there are chances that one of the sticks is faulty.. Happened to me.. you must test and use the sticks individually to identify the bad stick.. once identified, you can claim warranty on it..

Aright, is it identical RAM? Same manufacturer, same speed (e.g. 1600 MHz), timings, etc?

in that case,

try testing them one by one.. chances are that one of the stick is bad..

before that, what is the MHz of the stick?? does your motherboard support it??

just post the model of your motherboard and the RAM here..
