Help!! ASUS or Gigabyte MOBO for i5 6600K?!

Howdy guys! I remember that I've asked about what MOBO should I buy for my i5 6600K about few weeks but I'm really stuck and I'm not decided what should I choose between ASUS or Gigabyte!! I know a high quality MOBO such as Gigabyte Z170X Gaming G1 costs about 2500 Romanian Lei or ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme is about 1780 Lei in our stores. Also, bios from ASUS has an easier interface than Gigagyte UEFI bios, right?!

For the price get the ASUS , GREAT FIT FOR THE 6600K.

I'm pretty sure that should be a good choice for my CPU also If I will OC at 4.2 Ghz for begin. But, I've noticed that Maximus VIII Extreme have 2 ATX 12V! 1x 4 pin ATX 12v and 1x 8 pin ATX 12v?! Is necessary to connect both or the one of them to give power to CPU?!

Both are very good, I lean more towards Asus myself. The Extreme is very feature rich and may well be more than what you need, I looked and ended up going ewith the Hero and couldn't be Happier. ON X99 I went with the Strix, love it too. And yes I much, much prefer the Asus BIOss over GB, much more fine tuning ability 😉

Both are insanely expensive for a 6600k! Get a midrange board like the Asus Z170-A, the Gigabyte UD3 or the Z170X Gaming 3/5.

But how about ASUS Maximus VIII Hero?! The price is about 1.253 Lei in our stores. Also, the socket is LGA 1151. I've noticed a thing called "TPM" connector on MOBO! What that means?!

ASUS Maximus VIII Hero

The HERO is a great choice , I own 2 of the previous generations.

: )) I've check those models before but I've heard somehow they are not "high quality" MOBO!! And Z170-A it's not a MOBO dedicated for gaming builds.

They are high quality, but what on earth is a 'Gaming' motherboard?
If you ask me, it's splashing red on it and sticking 'gamer' in the name, it doesn't affect the quality of the product at all, and if anything allows them to more aggressively market their products.
An example is the Gigabyte UD3 and the Gaming 3, the UD3 has more features and connections than the Gaming 3, yet the Gaming 3 is more often than not more expensive because of the color and name.

While the Hero is a good board, it is simply awful value with a 6600k, that money is better spent elsewhere.

It's nearly twice the price of the Z170-A and far more than the user needs for only a 6600k build, it's just unnecessary funds wasted..

Oh gosh... I've just asking some opinions about what MOBO should I buy for my i5 6600K. And I've choose to go with Maximus VIII Hero. Maybe is still expensive but that would perfect combination with an i5 6600k and GTX 1060... I guess?!

That's even worse.... normally I'd go with an i5 6500 and 1070 before upgrading to a 6600k, but that motherboard is just straight overkill which is what i've been trying to say.....
What is the budget for your build all up in lei?

GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5
Ram : Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB kit 2x8GB1 DDR4 2400Mhz
HDD: 1TB WD Blue 7200 RPM
MOBO : I've planned to get ASUS Maximus VIII Hero.
Case : Corsair Alpha Spec
PSU : Corsair RM850x ( I know that is too much...)
