Alrighty. Here we go.
I am new here. When I say that, I mean I signed up 30secs ago to post this. I do end up wandering the forums a fair bit though, however. I've probably even done a classic and posted this into the wrong subsection.
I have been playing racing games for quite some time. iRacing, Automoblista, rFactor 2, stuff like that. I can run those games on high quality settings, and usually see 100+ fps.
However, I have recently picked up Assetto Corsa (after playing the watered down console version), and no matter what I do to the graphics settings, I cannot seem to get any more than like, 20 frames per second. Sometimes slightly more, sometimes slightly less. Even with reflections turned off, smoke off, and minimal settings elsewhere.
I am curious as to whether or not there is something somewhere (either application or NVidia GeForce related) which I have missed in order to run this game effectively. I just find it strange that I can run similar games faultlessly, but struggle to run Assetto Corsa smoothly. I have the same issue running Forza Horizon 3, but that is not a game I'm super fussed on, so it's a problem for another day.
Please keep in mind that I am a COMPLETE PC neanderthal... So even the most obvious things have probably been missed by me.
Happy to reply with any images/specs if required. I'll attach all I know, but there's probably much more to add, since it's me...
My Laptop Specs (note is being ran to a single monitor via. a HDMI cable);
ASUS Republic of Gamers Laptop, Model GL552VW,
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M,
Intel Core i7-6700HQ @ 2.60GHz (8CPU's),
8.00GB RAM,
Windows 10, 64bit x63 processor,
Using DirectX 12.
Resolution is 1920 x 1080, @ 60Hz.
Has an approx. 120gb SSD if that makes any kind of difference.
Thanks in advance. I apologize for any excess information I have provided, and am happy to provide more if needed.
Thanks and regards.
