I found an issue with my mobo last night
Went into bios to change some overclock settings again and the bios was extremely laggy and choppy to the point that it was so bad I didn't bother.
I took out the cmos battery and changed cpus thinking it might be a cpu issue but bios was still laggy and choppy.
Tonight I am going to reflash the bios and if that doesn't work clean install also. (mobo currently has latest bios on it)
If that fails I am going to order a new mobo.
Any suggestions on this issue?

Specs:
5775c
msi z97 gaming 5
2400 ddr3
gtx 1080ti
win10

That's odd....I've never heard of a Windows update affecting BIOS performance. I would still reach out to MSI and see if they know of the issue and may be pushing out a BIOS update to deal with it.
Your CPU shouldn't have any effect on your BIOS being laggy like that. If flashing the BIOS to the latest version doesn't help, I would contact MSI (I assume you registered it already? If not, go ahead and do so) and see if they can help you with it. You may have a bad board.

The board has been fine for a year or so. It wasn't choppy up until last week (havent been in bios for like 2 weeks). Only change was the new Win10 fall update
