I am having a hard time with my first gaming computer. Everything looks to be in working order. All the fans come one and I can hear everything working (I hope) but I cant get the monitor to come on. The keyboard is also not registering any of the caps lock or numlock. Help?

Here is my build. I need help bad. Would a video of the computer help?

Alright, let's isolate a few things to narrow down the problem. If you can, connect the video cable to the motherboard's video output, not the graphics card. Reply with the result. Also, try using different USB ports for the keyboard/mouse.

Ok, changed the USB nothing for keyboard. Put the monitor on the motherboard output. Still nothing.

did you hook up the speaker as noted on page 1-30 of the manual? are you getting any beep codes?

the monitor is connected to the video card?
the power connector is connected to the video card?
have you tried with one RAM stick at a time?

unhook everything from the motherboard except the power cord (24-pin) aux power (4/8pin), power switch, 1 stick of RAM, GPU and power to GPU and monitor cable, and a keyboard. Will it boot with just the basics?
will the system boot without the GPU while running off the iGPU?
a video may help.

Yes, I have the speaker in and have not gotten any beeps. I have tried with one stick of ram and still nothing. I have a video uploading of the system I hope my mother board is not bad. I will try unplugging and see if that works.

no beeps?
remove all the ram Force a beep code. the system should give you the No RAM beep code, for my Asus it is 1 long beep 4 short beeps pause and repeat.
if you cannot force a beep code it has been my experience the board is dead.

Yes I am getting beeps. With out the ram.
I also see there is is copper colored long part called a SLI that came with the board. I never put this in?

So how do I got about fixing this. I have windows installing now. Should I put the drivers in first then put it back in?

So I installed the drivers for the graphics card. However it still does the same thing (preventing the computer from booting up) I am still unsure if its the slot it needs to be in or if its the graphics card. I had it in pciex16_2 as I cant get it into 1 It wont go in for some reason.

Yeah, your instincts were right on that. Either it'll slot in no problem, or it wasn't designed to go there. Never force it.

As for the graphics card, make sure you've got the 6+2 pin connector connected properly. If it is and it's still not working, I'd go ahead and RMA it, something's obviously wrong with it.

I was able to get it into the slot above. Still does not work. My LED boot light comes on, no beeps just sits there.

The only one I have is this one. I dont think anyone around me has any computer parts, but I am going to call around and see if anyone has anything. It is funny how the graphics card will try to come on, the fans go on and off a few times then stops then we just sit with a black screen.

Yes I have the VGA 6+2 cord plugged into the card. I have the monitor plugged into the back of the motherboard.

if the monitor is working then there are 4 reasons i can think of why this should be happening.
1.Motherboard slots may have an issue
2.Bios settings could habe been changed
3.Graphics card is not working properly
4.PSU doenst have enough power

I tried putting the card into both of my PCIex_1 and 2 and does the same thing

when I did a test for power I was only at 400W so i got a 650W psu to make sure I was above that.
