Hey guys, like the title says... Need help choosing a new Mobo. I do not have a set price limit. Thinking around $200 max but not stuck on that.

What is necessary in a Mobo? I cannot figure out what is a must and what is not going to be useful to me.

I am willing to change some items if needed but think this setup will do me well. Looking to build this setup for gaming but also for music recording and editing.

How important is overclocking?? Is it really going to help me at all?

I want to boot from the Samsung M.2

Please suggest Mobo options to me and help me understand why I would pick one over the other. Would prefer atx. SLI capability is not necessary but wouldn't hurt anything.

If possible prefer yellow/blue for color. Not necessary but my preference for this build

I'd take a look at the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming or a bit more their Hero (what I went with). With your other components you want a mobo capable of OCing well, at least a couple of PCI-E 16 slots in case you ever want to SLI or XFire, support for all the drives and USBB devices you want/need, a good power phase design and if OCing a very good BIOS 😉
