Every time I try to hook up my TV to my laptop by HDMI it causes an error on the laptop. I have an old Dell xps laptop with windows vista. The TV is a new Samsung 65" smart LED tv. When I connect the two a blue error screen pops up and a few seconds later makes the laptop restart repeating the process of the crash. I've tried many suggestions by searching through the forum of similar stories. I have other smaller Samsung smart TV's and the hdmi connection works with no issues. any help is greatly appreciated

Most likely that your drivers are not up to date and, that you dont have alot of vram, try closing as many programs as possible. then try again

PS: to see if your drivers are out of date, go to google.com and type Intel Driver Utility and run it, go to display drivers and see if it says its up to date or if it needs updateing

I understand that the laptop is old but I cant find any updates that seem like they might help. If the laptop needed updates would it not work with my other smart LED TV's that are smaller?
