Hi. I just purchased a 3tb hard drive and a copy of Windows 7. I swapped the HD's, booted up from the disk and installed Windows. Everything worked fine, except I am only using 2 tb instead of around 2.75. I was told I need to switch the file format to GPT, but I am having trouble doing that. I have already formatted the drive, but still can't do it the way all the videos say to do it (through disk management). If it makes any difference, I am currently running Vista and am on my original HD. Thanks

Solution
The drive has to have NO partitions on it to make it GPT.

Some users have better luck using a linux live cd/dvd/usb flash drive to format the drive in gpt.
