Approximate Purchase Date: Next 3 weeks

Budget Range: $1000 CDN. Preferably less without sacrifice

System Usage from Most to Least Important:
I use a trial version of “Chief Architect” (the trial version will not allow to print or save; I use it to get a clear picture of what my renovations will look like before it happens) it's more of a pass-time/hobby
System Requirements - https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/sysreq.html
CarveWright CNC Designing Software(far less demanding than Chief Architect),
Coral Paint Shop Pro X6. System Requirements: https://support.corel.com/hc/en-us/articles/224727667-PaintShop-Pro-X9-System-Requirements

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: CPU / Motherboard / Ram / SSD / PSU / Case / DVD RW(did I forget anything ?)

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website for Parts: newegg.ca(I am open to others) The Canadian Dollar looses about 35% in the USA and also a GST of 15%(on converted to Canadian Value) upon crossing the border. So it's about 45% more than the listed US price...sad but true.

Location: Wilson's Beach, New Brunswick, Canada – The nearest Computer Shop is 2 hours away. It takes a week extra to ship to my location.

Parts Preferences:- CPU –AMD RYZEN 5 2400G Quad-Core 3.6 GHz (3.9 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113480&Tpk=N82E16819113480
- Motherboard - ASUS PRIME X370-A
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132986&Tpk=N82E16813132986
- SSD - XPG SX8200 PCIe NVMe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 480GB SSD (ASX8200NP-480GT-C) w/ Black XPG Heatsink. https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAFC377A0914&Tpk=9SIAFC377A0914
- RAM - HyperX Predator RGB 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2933 (PC4 23400) Desktop Memory Model HX429C15PB3A/8
https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104837&Tpk=N82E16820104837
- Case - MasterBox MB600L ATX Mid-Tower, Sleek Design with Red Side Trim and Acrylic Side Panel by Cooler Master( I chose this case because it's ATX Mid and didn't have a lot of unnecessary bays ; At the time of this writing it became out of stock) I am not opposed to getting one to just fulfill the needed requirements: IE front USB 3.0 and 1 front DVD slot and good ventilation
- PSU – One which will do the job(for along time)..and not a clutter of wires

Overclocking: Maybe(hope I don't need to)

SLI or Crossfire: Not in the foreseeable future(with the AMD Vega onboard Graphics – hoping to avoid buying a Graphics Card)

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920 x 1080 on a 27” LG 27EA31(with HDMI Input)

Additional Comments: All these parts listed I chose because of compatibility which started at the CPU. The Ryzen 5 2400G has the graphics onboard which I thought would perform best for my needs ,while saving money on Add-on Graphics and more slots on the mobo. I would rather save money but not sacrifice performance. I'm not a gamer(I get motion sickness) :( .
All the parts listed above are based on my current knowledge. Recommendations and Opinions are very welcome. Thank You for all your help !..maybe a new keyboard and mouse too.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I'm currently using a Dell Optiplex 755/Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 Ghz. Win7 refurb.( I may pass this over to my Daughter) I also have a unreliable Gateway AMD X2/5000 Win Vista collecting dust...I'm tired of watching the hourglass turn..I want something with some ZIP !

The b450 chipset has just started featuring yesterday on PCPP and was not there when the previous list was made.
Having said that, your build looks fine except the PSU. That EVGA unit is a very low quality unit and you should replace it with the one listed above. Or, use this as a reference to pick a better one... https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/
In the recommended section of “Chief Architect” it says...

16 GB of memory
50 GB of available hard disk space
4 GB or 8 GB gaming video card

Now based on that, this should be your ideal setup...

However, the Vega iGPU of Ryzen APUs are pretty good for running the software at a basic level. So this can probably do as well...

Hey Thanks Grandmaster for your recommendations. I used the pcpartpicker and found that there was a possibility of a compatibility issue between the CPU and mobo and didn't want to have to deal with it. I made a few changes and came up with the following system. Hope all goes well with it, being my first build...tnx agn,

Dwayne
