help external hard disk drive, disconnecting and reconnecting

its a brand spanking new transcend storeyet 2tb usb 3

pc: windows 8, msi gt70 dominator

I have tried:
reinstalling and updating drivers
formating disk
changing usb battery thing

pls halp

Try a different USB port on the computer. Also, can try a powered USB hub that has external power supply. Your system may not be sending enough power to the drive.

for some reason, with one of the usb ports, it stops constantly disconnecting and reconnecting,but then when i have viewed something like a video for 3-5 min on the drive, it disconnects and reconnects.

i had no problems with my old usb 3 external hard disk, that this one is replacing, so wtf.

Some of the USB ports do not provide enough power. Can try connecting it to a USB hub that has external power and see if that works.
