I'd like some help upgrading all parts of my PC to the maximum capabilities of its motherboard, or whether I'd be better off building a new PC from scratch. CPU-Z says my motherboard is a "CM6630_CM6730_CM6830" with an Intel Sandy Bridge chipset and an Intel H61 southbridge.

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6570
CPU: Intel Core i5 2310
RAM: Two 4GB sticks
HDD: Serial number is FE8E43C1. NTFS file system, 917.33GB of space.
Power: 350w peak supply

Hi

What do you use your PC for ?
what LCD screen resolution do you have?

With that 350Watt PSU you can't add a modern high performance graphics card
Not clear if a new standard PSU would fit in the case

looks like you have 2 RAM slots which could take 2 x 8GB but this would not be usefull unless you have software which supports this amount of RAM (DDR-3)

Thanks for responding, Mike.

I use my PC for gaming (from many eras) and sound production as well as internet communications. It varies a lot. Yes, RAM is DDR3 (forgot to put that in original post, sorry). Dimensions of the case are 173 x 360 x 400 mm (WxHxD), would a larger power supply be possible to fit, or is more information required? Would a larger power supply also require more cooling?

Current maximum monitor resolution is 1024x768, but I'm also in the market for a new one.

I have empty PCI slots, do you think a sound processor would be useful? Is it possible to upgrade the CPU, and if so, what would be the fastest possible CPU that would work with my motherboard that wouldn't be bottlenecked in some way?
