Hey there,
I'm looking to build myself a computer for editing using the Adobe Suite and Blender and I only have around 1200-1300$ to spend.
Here is my pc build: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/gV6BnQ
I know that I am a little bit over my budget but wanted to know what should I downgrade in order to keep the price lower.
Thanks!

Solution
Yes the i7 is a little better, but it, and the motherboards that support it, are more expensive. I chose the Xeon as the best cpu for the budget you gave to work with. Here's the build with the i7 and modular PSU-

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($434.95 @ NCIX)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($164.99 @ NCIX)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($120.98 @ Newegg Canada)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($87.50 @ shopRBC)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive...
Xeon has hyperthreading same as i7 but does not overclock and lacks iGPU which you don't need here since you have GTX 960.

Thanks Archaic59 for your response!

I've looked at the Intel Xeon's performance and it seems to me it would be better to get the i7 4790 if I don't plan to overclock. I also read that it won't perform as well in the Adobe suite. Would you recommend me to spend the extra 50$ to get the unlocked i7 for any 3d work and what motherboard should go with it.

Oh and yea it's wiser to get a 550 watt PSU but do you know any good ones that are fully modular?

Thanks!

Solution
Yeah I'll go with the i7 but is the PSU enough for overclocking? I don't wanna go crazy but might just boost it a bit!

Oh and the RAM, is your kit better or mine better? Because your's is more expensive !
