So I had a working MSDOS dual boot with my Win 7 32 bit laptop, but a month ago, the DOS part stopped functioning. Now when I select my MSDOS71 when booting up, I get this dumb GRUB4DOS screen, and none of the DOS commands work. I tried downloading and reinstalling 7.10 off a CD, but that only resulted in having to repair Windows 7 with it's own disk, and after trying to add DOS via EasyBCD I am back to getting the useless GRUB4DOS screen.

I feel like I am being held hostage by 1982 DOS ransomeware! I have been fugging around with this for hours and I am tired of pulling my hair out so asking for help. I have already saved my MSDOS program folders to my main Windows partition, so I have this nifty FAT32 partition ready to be reDOSed if anyone can run me through how to do that.

*solved, formatted the FAT partition and did not do the MBR update when installing DOS, I guess that was an issue*

Solution
I would suggest an external usb drive. My USB drive is all grub with a few hundred OS'es and various tools that I can access via boot menu. Use this tool to help setup any in the list or not.
