Hello. I am looking for advice from people who know computers better than me (I am at a basic level).

I have a laptop (Acer Switch Alpha 12) with 1 normal USB port and a Type-C one.
I need to connect:
  • two HDD 2.5 (Western digital, 1Tb each) cause on the first I have all my files and I want to make a copy for safety on the second.
  • two webcams
  • 1 ethernet cable (I teach music online and I need a stable connection)
  • sound card
  • mouse
  • 1 external monitor
  • extra ports for pen drives or a keyboard or another webcam
Except for the two HDD, I have been able to connect all the rest using two little portable hubs connected to each other, and the monitor to the type-c.

I would like to create a better decent setup and also to connect the two HDD.
I was wondering if I needed a docking station (if yes, which one?) or just a hub with a power supply.
NB. I would like to kee using one of the two HDD as portable, when I move from home.

Thank you very much in advance to who will help me.

Why do you need a sound card instead of just using the one built into the laptop?

This USB C dock/hub has 4 usb ports and video connections for a monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PRJJNG...uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

There are a bunch of other docks but for more than double the cost with more ports. Targus has some. Just look for a USB C universal dock and see what you like.

Thank you hang-the-9.
I need a sound card to connect my keyboard and external mic at the same time.

Thank you for the suggestion regarding the USB C dock/hub. does it require some power supply or I can just connect all the things I have (including both HDD) to it?

If you look at the model it will show you if it needs a power supply. The more advanced ones do need power to run them.

You will need an external USB sound card if you want to have more than one connection, for music use probably a MIDI interface
