So the fans on my computer end in what i believe is a 3-pin molex. It looks like the square shaped ends on this image. http://76.my/Malaysia/4-pin-molex-4-x-3-pin-connector-cable-yahoong-1105-24-yahoong@8.jpg

However, I cannot seem to find the proper adapter to get them plugged in to my PSU. I thought I did, but I ended up ordering the wrong ones. Can somebody help me find the proper adapters? Of course the problem with this is that looking up "3 pin molex" on Amazon also gets you "4 pin molex x 3" and it tends to be the more popular results. I would rather not order the wrong one again. Thanks!

yeah thats male

what pc case are you using? and did the fans come with the case?

normally fan connectors are only male if the case has a built in fan controller

I had already looked on that but maybe I missed it? The cables come out on the left side.

sorry--i meant the right side looking at the case from the front there should be a slider thing there for fan speed

should look like this i think

Yes, that's what the picture was of. The controller is plugged in but the fans are not.

the fans came with the case so they must plug in

either the fans have a male connection and the fan controller has female

or fans have female and controller has male

It seems like it may be this, but the fans are not running, even though all the fans in the PSU, CPU Cooler, and GPU are.

Edit: Although I'm aware that has nothing to do with the controller. Point is fans not connected to the controller are working.

check the controller on the case isnt turned off if it has an off option or turned right down some fans wont start if its too low

if that doesnt work it may be an issue with the molex power connection from the controller

I had tried the switch on the case before and nothing changed when I tried all three options.

Would a voltmeter work on testing the molex?

from the psu yes

though its more likely the one from the fan controller might be wonky sometimes when you connect those one of the pins can get pushed backwards so its not connecting properly

Yes it has some for the power buttons and around them. I'll check the connector to make sure it's not wonky and let you know if that's it.

Thanks for all the help!
