help! gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 mobo loop boot..

hello all!, im new to this site, ive creeped on it for a while but decided to join since i built my first pc, super excited, but i have a problem. i have a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 mobo. it has uefi bios. i paired it with 8 gigs of gskill sniper 1866mhz ram and a amd fx-8350 cpu. and if i go into the bios and change anything and i mean anything like changing my ram speed to factory clocked 1866mhz since it only reads at 1600mhz at 1.5 volts, or if i unlock my cpu for overclocking or even overclock it a little, during a cold boot it will start for a second, shut off, then boot normally.. but if i load back default in my bios it does not dual boot, now if im all ready in windows and i just restart it, it will not dual boot. its only during a cold boot it does this, and im scared to overclock or change anything cuz im afraid it will damage something.. is this normal for a loop boot on cold start if you overclock or change something in the bios?, it even does it if i only swith power saving off, i litterally cant change anything.. i called gigabyte and all they say is they dont support overclocking, and i cant even understand what they say anyways because of poor english. so im asking you all. if any of you have the same problems using your 990fxa mobo. i could not find anything online concerning gigabytes mobo. my specs are included for further info

Make sure your motherboard bios is at the highest rev to have the newest CPU and ram code. Amd motherboards don't have intel xmp profile. Most ram is built for intel mb and the top speed is the xmp profile. Run Cpuz look under memory the spd info. If the 1866 is under xmp it the intel over clock profile. Mb have overclock failure recovery. Most times if you set ram speed wrong you get power on...off..on till the mb defaults to a setting that works.

it says xmp-1866 and under it it says frequency of 933mhz.. also. how can i check and see what kind of rev im using and where i can get the lates rev out.. thanks for much for your reply

update. my chipset rev is 02 and my southbridge is 40. it also says my max bandwith on my memory is 800mhz, this cant be right, lol.

On gIgbyte web page for your mb if it a rev 1.0 mb the last bios was f9.
Rev 1.2 mb the last bios was fe.
Rev 3.0 mb are FC.
Look at the mb box or the mb for a rev sticker. Then download the last bios and update your mb.

it is rev 3.0, checked in bios, im all ready running fc. anyother problem it might be?

On page 38 this mb has xmp profile by default it off. Try turning it on and then use xmp profile.

ok, i changed my memory timing settings, i left xmp disabled and manually changed my clock to 9.33 at 1866mhz. that stopped my loop boot on my memory so thank you, but i still get a loop boot if i disable turbo core, im trying to overlock to 4.6ghz at 1.456V. i know im stable at that because ive done a prime test for 8 hours, 22.5x multiplier, but in order to stop my loop boot i have to enable turbo core, which only maxes to 4.1ghz, even if i enable 22.5 multiplier on my turbo core, so i have to have it disabled in order for me to reach my full 4.6ghz. so i guess my question would be... why is disabling turbo core boost causing my loop boot on cold start?, like i said, it only loops one time, then boots into windows, it doesnt seem to do any harm but to me its just not right, again thanks for posting that timing link, it helped me out alot

It A know quirk with mb and over clocking at cold post. The mb is testing the CPU to ram and bus speeds on that first post.
