Rule # 1 of gaming laptops, buy the highest end machine you think you will need for the next 3-4-5 years as you're pretty much stuck with the orignal hardware aside from upgrading RAM (maybe if the system wil take more) and the hard drive. If it's new, see if you can exchange it. There are a few specialty laptops that have changable video cards, but those will generally start out with high-end cards and just allow you to upgrade in a year or 2 to a faster one rather than start with a bad card and go up.
