HELP. hacker deleted the contents of the external drive. I need to retrieve them. HELP

There is a nasty hacker who has taken control of my laptop and keeps deleting all the important files. He/ She deletes emails, job applications, reply to job emails, photos of my family members. He has given me his phone number and expects me to call me and invite him to my home and be nice to him, any of which I dont want.

Please help

Have you tried calling the cops? They could probably track. If not invite him over and stomp his face in.

Invite the cops > Invite him > Enjoy the look on his face when he gets arrested > Install Recuva > See what you can recover.

EDIT: Additionally you could call him and record the phone call and keep it as evidence.

Alright, maybe try changing your login password. Make it something very complicated with upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols. And then write it down on a piece of paper so you don't forget it. This might be able to keep him from changing important things on your computer. But I don't know much about hacking.

India, huehuehue... Call the cybercrime branch of your city's police hq and explain your problem. Additionaly buy a data recovery software and use a good firewall that can block future intrusions.

Change passwords, run malwarebytes to clean any trojans allowing him access.
Uninstall any remote desktop applications, and if you are using unsecured wireless then go to your routers setup page and put a password on it.

If he just deleted it and did not do a secure erase, then you can use Recuva and recover a lot of your files. If your email is gmail, homtail etc you can most likely find your deleted emails in the trash folder, if you use outlook then you might be out of luck.

I will change password of email, I have tried quick heal and kaspersky. nothing works. They all state that there are no virus or trojan. The settings on my laptop keep getting changed, files keep getting vanished.
It looks like I just have accepted this is the way of life. This is horrible bullying. I feel defenceless.
