Help I cant get SLI to work on 970's

and my specs are
2 Gtx 970 (zotac)
PSU 750W EVGA 80 Plus Gold
FX8320 OC with the Genie to 4.00ghz
990FXA MOBO MSI

So a quick summary is that I got a gtx 970 for 277$ on ebay and tested which runs perfectly identical to my recent 970 but once I got the sli bridge on it, it doesnt seem to let me use them both and I used the SLi bridge that the msi MOBO came with and one i bought at fry's I dont know what else to do I checked the drivers and theyre up to date

I started inspecting the bridges and they have arrows and a letter on opposite ends "G" "B"

Fully remove the graphics drivers with DDU (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller/) and then download and reinstall the latest drivers from Nvidia.

Is the issue resolved?

make sure to enable SLI in the GeForce Control Panel after updating the drivers.

:/ didnt work for me i'm starting to think that its the crap luck im getting with these sli bridges because both graphics cards work and are shown but maybe its the cheap bridges that maybe holding me back
