i could really use some expertise 😀 ...i have a hp paviliondv2000 here, and the screen is in smithereens 😳 now, how do i find the specs i need to see about ordering a new screen?? how do i find out if it is a 15 or a 30 pin fitting? what else do i need to know? i know nothing, as you can see! i am in ireland, and got one quote of 600- 800 euro to repair this  there has to be another way! anybody? thanking you in advance...

Ok, First, I'd try contacting HP. See what they can do. Your warrenty may cover it.

Second, I would not recommend buying another LCD screen and replacing it yourself. It's complicated and iffy. As reckless as I am, even I wouldn't attempt this.

If HP cannot replace the screen, I suggest getting a new laptop. I think the time and effort used to research, find, and install a new LCD is not worth it. It would be much easier to start over.

Sorry for being so negative.... 😳

thanks for your input...i do have someone who is quite capable of fitting the screen...i just wanted to gather all the info and have it all ready, so he can just do it for me...warranty won't cover this--it was dropped  not by me   your points are well taken, but i thought someone might be able to point me in the right direction...
