Hello all.

I was recently looking to upgrade my Desktop PC with a 500gb storage SSD. I currently use a 120gb ssd as boot drive and a 1tb hdd as storage. I am mainly looking for M.2 because I am not really a fan of the large 2.5 inch standalone ones.

my specs are:
i5-6600k
evga 750 g2 gold psu
g.skill aegis 16gb (2x8) ddr4 2800mhz ram
ASRock Z170A-X1 Motherboard

So my question is, does my motherboard have the m.2 slot on it?

it's newegg.ca, the ram is on newegg, never bought from them before.

the ssds and stuff, i bought that from amazon when we spoke a few days back. I am confident about that buy and thank you once again for helping me purchase that stuff :)

I mean what's the worst that can happen after I install it right? Random BSODs, System crashing at launch?

and yea, my card has been charged so apparently no changes can be made until after I receive it...Yolo...Welp.

Simply fail too boot or a BSOD.

in theory, If I remove the ram tho, after it doesn't work, everything will go back to normal then right? There is no risk in what I'm doing that will harm my computer?

I wonder if people out there have got something like what I am trying to do work with success because it seems no one knows what im talking bout

Every single PC on the planet is slightly different.
Literally no one else has your exact combination of motherboard, RAM, drives, OS (incl updates), and other software.

But it will probably work.

i installed cpu-z and right now it says the RAM is running in dual channel.

So when I add the 3rd ram, it will change to single?

just so you get a better idea what I have, here is picture.
