Help installing two 5tb drives

Hello Everyone,

I just bought two WD Black 5tb HDD's. I know that windows doesn't detect over 2 tb. Is there a certain way to set the drives up so I get the full space? I will be using one drive for media and the other for gaming. Are there specific setting I need to set?

Are you using 32bit pre windows 7? If not there will be no restriction save for a bad motherboard with crappy drivers.

He needs to mark them as GPT and not MBR correct? MBR is what limits the drives to 2TB, but when they're GPT you can get away with more space. I could be wrong.

Should I upgrade to windows 10 first then install drives?

Are these extra drives, or is one of them going to be the OS drive?
In any case, you need to delete all partitions on them, create a new partition, and format as GPT.

The O.S is on a 850 pro ssd
