Hello guys,
I just got a laptop with a pirated version of windows 10(activated with some software) and it keeps telling me to install the windows updates and I want to update it because current version contains some errors. So, can I just click install from the update notifications? or Is there any other way to install the updates?
Any suggestion is appreciated, thanks.

Hi,

Since you already are using a (pirated) version of Windows 10, you'll have to reformat your laptop by downloading a free retail copy from the official Microsoft website. Try this link: https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/cat/Windows/categoryID.70036700

Here's what you should consider:

1: During the formatting, if you choose to format drive C:\ only (recommended), then only the data on C:\ gets erased. Also User folders (located in C:\) such as Downloads, Documents, Music & other libraries get deleted. To save those data, move (cut & paste) your data to separate drive or to other external media. You will not lose any data then.

2: But if you choose to format all drives ( not recommended ) then...
Hi,

You probably know by now that Windows 10 is free until July 29, 2016. So I would like to suggest that you use a genuine copy of Windows instead of using a pirated copy because pirated ones may contain combined malware or damaged software.

In reply to your current query, to install updates, you can just click on "Install" from your update notifications. If the update is already downloaded, it'll start installing right away & then it'll ask you either to schedule a reboot or reboot immediately. Choose what you wish & updates will be installed.

Hope this helps. :)

This explains a lot man, thanks. I'll try update from the notification, will the updating process delete my data?

BTW, how can I change it to genuine one without losing my programs and data?

3: You will lose your installed programs if you format.

Hope this helps. :)
