I am going to sell a graphics card on ebay and need a antistatic bag before I feel comfortable doing so. I found one laying around at work that I was going to use, but I found it has a small rip in the center of it. Is it too risky to use this bag? Can I patch it with anything?

Solution
a small rip isn't going to affect anything. the bag is anti static itself, so that it doesn't cause any static electricity to mess up the components inside. a little air/dust isn't going to hurt anything.

What kind of tape and how much experience do you have with this.

Can anyone verify whether or not this suggestion is trolly or for real.

Sorry to doubt your advice, but it is a fairly expensive mistake to make.

for crying out loud. ever hear of scotch tape. tape the hole in the bag shut. put the card in and tape the end closed after folding it over. ......... if in doubt.......... try a computer store and buy a bag. shouldn't be a buck. .............. or ask a friend or use one from your motherboard box or whatever. don't pack the card in foam chips. roll in bubble wrap and tape that shut. box/ship.
