help just got a new computer

hey guys just got a new computer for chirstmas from i buy power. excited as i am i have no clue how to install windows. i have all my stuff plugged in correctly and when my xp disk is inserted nothing comes up. can anyone help please

Assuming it is a bootable windows disk
When powering on you should see a message saying hit delete to enter setup
goto the heading boot order and be sure that the order is cd hdd floppy then save and exit. Reboot with the cd in the drive and you should be off and running.

nothing dsplays on the monitor thats my problem

when you turn the monitor on independent of the computer does it say anything? eg no signal
If not do you possible have another monitor to try?

Hmmm..... black screen on a new PC. If you switch on the monitor without switching on the CPU you should get a "no signal / no video" message. If you don't contact your PC vendor and tell him you have a DOA (dead on arrival).
