I have a new socket A motherboard from abit. I specificly chose the KT7 RAID for all the options it has. I thought it should have the KT133 chipset, but, instead, it has the KX133 chipset??!!
Is this possible? What are the differences between KX133 and KT133 ??
It seems to be a german board because the manual is german too...
Did they run out of KT133 chips??? what´s going on?!

What bios update should i download??

Help?!

The KX chipset was the one that was not compatible with the Thunderbird. I don't think that the chipset ever made it to a socket board. So why do you think it is a KX chipset?

First of all it said so in the manual, but i am beginning to doubt that manual now.. it seems to have more errors in it.. (and it´s German! that should explain some...) 😉
But when i was installing the drivers from the CD it also identified the chipset as being an KX133. So at that moment i thought that it might be a KX133.. But i will try Sisoft Sandra to determine whether it is KT or KX...
I also thought that it would be VERY strange, since the KX is not compatible with socket A...

update!

ok, it is an irritating error in the manual, an irritating error in the drivers... and SiSoft Sandra, that nice benchmarking and testig program, identified the chipset as being a KT133. Thanx Sandra!

So, it is all ok..
