3 months ago in March I decided to upgrade my legacy HDD & 4gb ram to an SSD & 8gb. My computer is a Lenovo Ideacentre A310 all-in-one. In order to access the interior components I had to remove the display. Upon reassembly I pinched the display cable, and have been going back/forth with Lenovo trying to find a replacement. Despite the fact that there is only one cable that connects the motherboard to the display, they have sent me three different wrong cables.

The connector is approximately 1" long and carries 52 wires. Pictures of the socket and cable can be found here:

I assumed it was a proprietary thing, but i had to try. Dealing with Lenovo is incredibly difficult. Nobody has a diagram of the computer, so nobody has any idea what I'm talking about. I told them the cable could be seen on page 30-31 of the manual, they still sent me the wrong one. I offered to send pictures, they keep telling me they can't accept e-mails with attachments. I hosted the pictures on photobucket, they told me they can't/won't look at them.

Eventually a "specialist" called me and told me the cable wasnt available, but I could send my computer in and pay them $100 to diagnose/repair it. When I asked the guy how he could fix it without the cable, he hung up on me.

I've been persisting with Lenovo for over 3 months. I'm out of ways to explain to these people.
