Help Lowering Cost

Solution
I would get a 980ti instead of sli 970's, you dont need 1000 watts maybe get a 750w supernova, or 850w if you want to sli the 980ti's in the future, also go with the i7 4790k its a great processor. That opens you up to get the Asus Z97-A/Usb 3.1 Motherboard. Also you need a cpu cooler, get the Hyper 212 Evo.

Then once you get the 1150 socket you can get ddr3 ram, not a huge diff from ddr4, and get hyper kingtson ram 1866mHz. I say 1 980ti because its better performance wise, and it is compatible with all games some games dont support sli..also when you upgrade and sli the 980ti it will be a 4k ready machine, even tho one 980ti can run 4k pretty good.

You would do better with a single card in the long run. It will perform just as well and you will avoid scaling issues. You can also use a smaller PSU. By the the time you need to upgrade it, there will be better single card solutions out.

Only place I see to cut is the mainboard to a cheaper SLI capable one and SLI 970 to a single 980 ti should be near equal performance and less headache. Also right now the 980 TI is an additional $10 off and $30 rebate. Could find a cheaper case and power supply from the above suggestions. I added a little to the ram, highest bandwidth at stock voltage. You need a CPU cooler with the new K chips as they are sold CPU only.
