I want to be able to overclock these gfx cards also. I do not have exactly $1500 but I don't want to go much over that. So that I may have a little money for a keyboard and mouse.

I'm not sure if I need, certain fans for this set-up because it has 2 powerful gfx cards. My house does not get hot.

Is this a good set-up. Just tell me maybe if I have other options, that might be better. I was thinking about running the nvidia and maybe something else, let me know. I actually have 3 way sli with that mobo.

I do not want a cd drive, and I have an old hd im gonna use.

Some other things
Whats the difference between a fan and a pc cooler. Are the ones that come the CPU good enough? Should I get one for my case?

Look at that mobo I selected is this good? Is there a cheaper option, I really like the 3 way sli no lie.

ah true that, okay brother, i feel you. I am sorry, I do see what you mean,

Thats what I just designed, but the gold and bronze is the power effeciency and stuff that your PSU works at bronze is 80% effeciency (At least mine was)

I made a two changes to your build and they are :

1. PSU : Replaced the PSU you selected with a much better and higher quality PSU. You do not need 900W anyways. This 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU should be good enough even for computers which suck a lot more power than this computer. Even a 600W PSU is enough for this build but the extra wattage of the 750W PSU would ensure future upgrading space.

2. GPU : Just added the same GPU with better fans that would help you when you would overclock it. The fans in this GPU are much better than the reference fans.

So with these two changes the build looks like this :

Simply put; unless you have at least a 2560x1440 screen or a 3x1080p array, you're not getting the most out of your setup. You might want to get a new screen(s) and one GPU.

Most displays can't show you anything faster than 60FPS, because they only refresh at 60Hz.

3/4 way SLI is stupid in general unless you are trying to run 4K or a set of 1440p screens. Any attempt at 3/4 way SLI is going to cause you serious cooling hassle as well, and is likely limited to watercooling only.

I mean right, am I not the only one who sees the beauty of this? Does anyone, in a collective vote, think I should get a 4 way SLI mobo, strap that rig up with stock fans, and stick 2-3 GFX cards in it?

skilla don't listen to these haters if you can do quad sli and go 4x godlike that will be amazing

With 4 cards I hope he doesn't plan to game like ever cause the driver issues with 4-way are poorly updated cause most cannot afford to slap 4 cards in so devs and manufacturers so yea benchamrk software away! Otherwise max out at 2 and be happy knowing that the new gen gpu's can max any game right now.

3/4 way SLI has major scaling issues. It won't be much better than 2-way with the same cards. Show only.

Once again, unless you have a really nice screen setup it's a waste. You can't see anything above 60FPS on standard displays.

You should be spending as much on your displays as your GPUs at this point.

Totally agree! Might as well just put 1 or 2 good strong cards and call it a day then focus on pushing better resolution. Pernoally its enough its already an amazing machine at 2 cards and anything further is just bragging rights. :bounce:
