Alright guys. I'm starting as a newbie, so go easy on me. Alright, I've decided purely because I don't know anything, that I want to build my own rig.

First, the things I know I want for sure - 1080x Graphics card. No idea on brand so suggestions are welcome + encouraged.

Now as for the processor, I've narrowed it down to an i7 6700k, or 6700k (Quad), 6800k, or 6850k. I have no idea which is better, but I do want a beast of a machine that I won't need to upgrade (due to technological advances) for a bit of time.

No idea on motherboard, wifi and liquid cooler? is something that sounds like I would want. Not sure what is the difference.. I think I've seen cases that have cooling abilities but I do abuse my computer and rarely turn it off.

Storage - 1 TB SSD Samsung or something.

What can make it VR? Want a crazy slim case too.. please help. I'm lost :)

Solution
A 250GB SSD is all you need, use it for OS, software and a few select games (50GB worth max) you want faster loading times in.
Loading times are the only benefit SSDs provide in games.
Here's an ITX system, i'll post a full size below which is what I recommend.
The 279Q has a better panel, 1440p and much more vibrant colors vs the 278Q which is a mess of QC issues.
I've gone for a different monitor in the second, because with two 1080s G-Sync becomes a bit pointless.
I've also included a mechanical keyboard and gaming mouse with a top of the line headset.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($329.88 @ OutletPC)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG...
Thanks for the responses. Budget is 3k but I'm looking at the ASUS PG278Q 27" monitor which is about $600 by itself.

I might be willing to settle with 32 GB of memory.

A couple prebuilt desktops that look interesting. The HP omen i7 6700k (quad), 32 GB ram, 1080x, is about $1700. While the MSI G65 is about $3000 for i7 6700k 64GB and dual 1080x.
