Yes. Nothing wrong with DDR4 and LGA1700. DDR5 has more bandwidth but also increased latency at the slower speeds. Just now getting to the point where it comes in handy in games. For other workstation tasks the higher bandwidth of DDR5 is superior.

Mostly slightly in favor of DDR5 with a few exceptions. And they used a relatively common DDR4 CL18 3600 kit, I myself run DDR4 4000 CL18, and DDR4 CL16 3600 is pretty easy to come by as well.

Z690 or Z790 for an i7 I would say is fine. Even on a locked chip you have greater control with a Z board. You can tweak memory and power more easily.
So i should never consider getting lower chipset at any circumstances
Correct me if am wrong...

And why not B760... H610 something similar to that??

When the price is right, sure.

Let's see, cheapest mATX LGA1700 board I could justify is $90. B760 DDR5 board. But for $100 there is a AsRock Z690M DDR4 board. So $10 difference, and it is DDR4 like you wanted.

For ATX At $120 there is the ASRock Pro RS Z690, 8$ extra for the Riptide which loses you a 2x2 USB port but gains you Killer networking over Realtek. Basically the same, and the Riptide is all black if that matters.

Z class on the cheap end gets you the options and doesn't cost you much. Until you hit the $200 plus boards you aren't going to see a huge increase in features or VRM layout. (At least with ASRock)

I used a Z class board with my i3-4130T, useless then, but I did drop in a 4770k later on. Same situation now. I have a Z690 Mini-ITX board with an i3-12100F, maybe in the future I will pop in the 12700KF I am running now when I get a i7-14700k for my main system. Though probably not, might even pick up a 13100/14100 at some point. The point there is I did end up using all the overclocking functions to perform a good underclocking. (Both my boards are Z690 ASRock boards FYI)
