Hey Guys,

I read the Post about flashing my ATI RADEON 9800Pro to 9800XT Speeds and followed the instructions correctly to the point and now I start the computer and it doesn't even P.O.S.T. It starts for about 2 seconds and then It will shut off. What is going on? Is there anyway I can revert this? I am currently running my ATI RADEON 7500 64mb to view and I cannot play the games that I wish to. Can Someone help me?

Thank you in advance.

This is my Boomstick.

Flash back to your old bios <b>that you saved</b>.

I did save it but I cannot get the Computer to boot up with the ATI RADEON 9800PRO in it. It shuts down after only 2 seconds of being on. The Computer will not even POST.

This is my Boomstick.

You have two choices, you can either blind flash(which isnt too difficult), or you can buy/borrow a pci video card to boot from while you flash your old bios back onto the card.
<b>These kind of problem's are exactly why I didnt want a sticky post to be made of Willamette's 9800Pro>9800XT thread.</b>
BadAsh, see if you can get ahold of a pci video card, and we'll get you fixed up.

Thank you GeneticWeapon,

I have actually two PCI Cards.

One is a Rage II+DVD (atleast that is what it says on the chip) I believe it has 4MB of memory.
The other is a MACH64 and I don't know how much memory is on it. Will either work?

Please explain the Blind flash as well.

I appreciate your help.

How the hell is he going to reflash the card when the system won't stay powered up with that card installed? Last I knew you had to have a running system to flash a card.

I'm pretty sure that his computer isnt shutting off because he flashed his card's bios. I suspect that he simply isnt getting anything displayed on his monitor.
BadAsh, can you tell us if your pc itself still runs?...any light's on or drives spinning?

He said in his first post the computer starts for 2 seconds and shuts off!

Read the original post again Crash, he's using the computer to post these messages on. He simply changed out the video card to a Radeon 7500 AGP.

I'm pretty sure that if he set's his pc up to boot off the pci card, his system will stay running.

When I put the ATI 9800Pro in, The computer boots for two- three seconds max. The it turns off. I have to turn it back on to get it going again(meaning it will stay on for two - three more seconds and shut off.) While the ATI 7500 is in it it keeps working. Does that make more sense? I don't think I worded it correctly the first time.

OK. I have put both a PCI (MACH64) and the ATI 9800PRO into another computer and It will stay on if I have PCI selected in BIOS as my first Video to be accessed. Now If I Flash the card will it flash the MACH64 to the original?
Since it is an ATI card as well?

This is my Boomstick.

GREAT!!.. when you type "<b>atiflash -p 0 whateverbios.bin</b>"...the zero designates the AGP slot, so you dont have to worry about mistakingly flashing your pci card
And of course, where I have "whateverbios.bin" typed, you are to enter the name of the bios you are flashing to(your original)
