how to get into safe mode on windows 8

If you can boot into the computer regularly. Go to run and type "msconfig". Go to the boot tab and check safe mode. When you're finished in safe mode you will have to repeat the process and uncheck the safe mode option and save.

and if it wont boot

hold down shift and keep tapping f8 as it turns on--may take a few attempts to time it right

in amongst the advanced options its got start in safe mode

dont know why they made it so much harder than getting to safe mode in windows 7
