Question Help me organize my videos!

My collection of videos is getting out of hand. I am looking for an app that will help me manage them - just as Calibre does for ebooks. By manage I mean: 1. allow me to make folders from the program to sort them 2. (ideal) have some function that helps me do research on the video (where it is from, etc. 3. Take a title shot from the video to display. 4. Have an interface similar to Youtube - showing each folder. 5. Have functions to convert the video to another format.

Is there anything out there like this?

Are you an Ubuntu user?

Overall, you may not need some app at all.

Consider just coding some app of your own.

No immediate need to have some "all singing, all dancing" code.

Start simple and expand from there.

Small steps - learn as you go.

And you will not be dependent on someone else's app. And can do as necessary for your requirements.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

As it appears that you are running Linux, why not simply use Kodi? It'll do at least 90% of what you want.

the only time i tinkered with this mysel i used Kodi. simple, free, easy to use and tons of add-ons to tweak it just how you want it.
