[SOLVED] Help me overclock i7

People are telling me I need to overclock my i7 6850k to get better performance while playing some games..

Can someone help me out? I've never oc'd before and I used the asus ezclock (whatever it is) and it looks like it clocked it to 3.8 but would like to go higher.

Any advice?

Specs :
i7 6850k
Asus X99-aii Mobo
16gb ram
gtx 1080 ti

Try XTU. It has a simple and advanced mode, there are lots of guides out there on how to use it. Then upload your benchmark to hwbot and see what others with same CPU and mobo are getting and at what settings.

thank you.. what kinda temps should i start to worry about on the i7 6850k?

From what I've seen you want to be keeping it below 70 as a continuous maximum, but it's actual maximum is 100 at which it will just shut down the system to protect the processor.
