Hi, I'm planning on building a computer. My budget is $700 and I am planning to play games like Bf3, Minecraft, League of Legends, and other games that will be purchased on Steam. But I dont know what parts to buy, so I came here. Can you recommend some parts to help me start? Thanks! :D

Also it is my first time ever building a computer.

Its possible, but don't expect great performance. If you need an OS and monitor, they will cut into the builds budget by a lot.

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 . $110

Pretty much the only budget "true" quad core worth getting.

Mobo: AsRock 970 Extreme3 AM3+. $70

This board will let you upgrade to Bulldozer or Piledriver if you wanted later.

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws series 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz CL9 1.5v. $46

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM. $90

Or to save a bit of cash
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB. $75

PSU: Seasonic 520W, 80+ Bronze, modular. $60

Be careful with this supply, it has two 12v rails and make sure not to put the burden all on one.

GPU: Gigabyte HD7850. $260

Case: Zalman Z9+. $53

Very good budget case, surprised they can get a profit off this thing.

Total: $689 (with the 1TB HDD)

This rig will be good for medium level gaming.

Well here's an Intel rig that I whipped up that I think would do OP just fine. It's cutting it close for his budget, though.

ASRock H77M Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157303

G. Skill Ripjaws X 1600Mhz CL9 RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

Corsair CX500w PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027

XFX Core Radeon HD7850 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150617

Samsung Spinpoint 500GB HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181

Cooler Master Elite 430 Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119227

Total price after shipping and discounts - $713.26 that's BEFORE rebates. Now let's add in the rebates.

$20 rebate on the GPU and $20 rebate on the PSU, which is a total of $40 of rebates. $713.26 minus the $40 rebate gives you a grand total of $673.26
