Help Me Please

so I bought a Gaming mouse ( black web) and I connected it but the laser on the bottom won't work , and the funny thing is that the buttons are active when i press them but it won't move for some reason .

Wireless or wired, if wired try a different USB port, if wireless try a new battery (sounds like the laser may be dead though - does it require a driver?
