So, I basically have all the parts I need for my build except for the RAM and the GPU.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver - 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste
Motherboard: MSI - B350 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Case: NZXT - S340 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA GS 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Case Fan: NZXT - RF-FN142-RB 50.0 CFM 140mm Fan x2

I'm looking to get a GTX 1060. If you must make the argumentfor something like the RX 580, feel free to leave it with an example model and an explanation, but....

So, I need a 1060 that doesn't run hot, like for example... this one
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-126-122&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-dealnews.com-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=552179&SID=V2d3VnhRb0tNcTBBQVE3Z3pFVUFBQURF

Honestly, the best one I have looked at is the MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X, as... it uses the same cooler that is used for the 1070s and 1080s and according to reviews the thing runs quiet and smooth as imaged.

My main problem is.... the black and red.

I really, really, really, REALLY like the ROG Strix 1060, but I can't justify paying the cost of it. I feel like I feel like paying 300 dollars is already 50 dollars over MSRP, and paying much over that is just silly and at that point i should just be thinking about getting a cheap 1070 (which I can justify financially, based on the prices of GPUs right now).

So, Im willing to pay ~300, but not terribly much over it.

I really would like to see a model that is white with black fans. The Asus Dual would be great if only it wasn't marked as being unpleasantly loud and hot. I feel like a 1060 shouldnt be loud or hot.

I'm not really going to get stuck on the wanting of a white GPU... I may end up getting that obnoxious looking MSI card even, just based on the quality of it.

But if anyone can suggest anything I would be open ears, especially if you know about any secret black friday deals coming up 😛

Thank you.

Personally it isn't too hard to paint the shell of an MSI card (or better yet get some DeBrand carbon...
I suggest the MSI gtx 1060 gaming x plus, its a very solid card at only 289.00$ (USD) on new-egg at the moment, I personally own this card and it just crushes any game I throw at it, this card also has some very awesome features, and a kick-ass cooling system as well (never gone above 57 C even at 100% usage on Arma 3 maxed out) it also has customizable lighting and software built specifically for MSI cards.
Another pro about this card is - damn its fast
with a factory boost clock reaching almost 2000 mhz!
I have had no issues with it at all whatsoever in the time owning this card and i think you will be pleasantly surprised at how good it is!
I hope this helped
(this is a black and red card, for a black and white look into the MSI armor 1060 6gb)

Honestly, based on the reviews I've read, it seems like that is the 6gb 1060 with the most value. I'm most likely going to end up getting that one, because I can't pick the inferior card based on that it looks the way I want. I just can't bring myself to do that.

I looked at the Armor and I might consider it, but I feel like one of the ways it might be inferior to the Gaming X is its cooler. I'm going to have to read reviews on the armor and compare it before I consider that one. Thanks.

Personally it isn't too hard to paint the shell of an MSI card (or better yet get some DeBrand carbon fiber vinlys!) And I personally would pick the gaming x plus over the armor, this thing is just such a beast and handles anything, with Arma 3 set to ultra I still get 50-60 fps on average! (1080p) all it would take to make this thing match your black and white build is some careful steady hands, some research and some vinyls to paint the red white, the MSI logo in the side is RGB as well so you can set that to white, the only issue is the red led lines on the card. But if you wanted you could just add a touch of red here and there and you'd have a kickass setup, especially if you're into Assassins Creed!!
