Help me understand RAM speeds

So I bought 16gb of Corsair lpx vengeance 3200mhz and installed them successfully.

Can someone help me understand RAM speeds? This is what Speccy shows.

Is the above 1067 mhz the speed at which my RAM is currently running at? shouldnt it be 3200 mhz? It needs to be tweaked in BIOS or what?

Any intel is welcomed. Thanks

DDR4 memory has a Double Data Rate (DDR), meaning your DDR4-3200 is rated for a data rate of 3200 MT/s and a clock frequency of 1600 MHz.

It's currently running at 1067 MHz = 2133 MT/s, which is the default speed for most DDR4 memory when first installed. To get the full DDR4-3200 speed you'll want to enable XMP and pick the 3200 profile. That's done in BIOS/UEFI.

Is there any downside or side effect of having my RAM run at full speeds? Also, performance should be higher, right? Does that increase in performance come at any cost?

I guess your system will use like an extra watt or two.

Performance will improve, though it very much depends what you're running - some workloads and games benefit, others don't.
