[SOLVED] Help me understand VESA Adaptive Sync

Heyo, I'm looking to buy a new monitor, and this particular one lists VESA Adaptive Sync as the adaptive sync technology for the monitor. Unfortunately for me, I don't understand<Mod Edit> about the adaptive sync technologies. The particular store I'm getting it from mentions both Freesync and VESA in the title but lists VESA adaptive sync under specifications. What does this all mean? Explain to me like i'm either 5 or 75, will this work with my RTX 2070 Super?

in game A your GPU can render at 144frames per second however your display can only display 60. the extra frames go out of sync and tearing occurs.
freesync or adaptive sync tells the GPU what the limits of the monitor are. instead of running at full tilt boogy to render 144 the GPU will concentrate on 60-65 as that is what you will see.

supporting this means the display and the GPU can talk to each other and now the GPU will not pummel the monitor with frames it cannot display. since the display and the renderer are in sync the tearing will be reduced or eliminated resulting in a smoother flowing game.

bad analogy time.
grandpa (monitor) cannot hear johnny ( GPU) because he is talking way too fast, words are dropped misunderstood or...

freesync is the computer version of telling johhny to slow down.
 
Solution
It’s a 100Hz WQHD monitor with Freesync/G-Sync compatibility. At that res the 2070 Super can give you 75FPS or better on a lot of games assuming your cpu can keep up. You can expect performance somewhere between 1440p and 4k with the WQHD resolution on that gpu:

You will actually have to use a frame limiter since the 2070 Super will do over 100FPS in well optimized or less demanding games.
