Hi I've been using Windows 7 starter and I have it installed on my hdd , now I bought a ssd and Windows 7 home premium. I am now wanting to change os , how to do wipe the old os on my hdd before I set up my new os on ssd

Solution

Give it a drive letter, whichever you want and is available.

But wouldn't the old os be on my hdd , would that affect my new os

It will be on there, until you delete it.
If your BIOS is set to not boot from that drive, it won't boot from it. The old OS is just files on that drive.

Thanks I'm just installing the new os now on ssd now after this do I update the drivers ?

If needed, yes.

I mean lol do I install drivers or was I supposed to do that before ;-; os

Drivers is after the OS install. As you are currently doing.

Oh ok thanks man , so I just put the gpu and mother board drivers discs in and is it a simple install or something

Preferably, you go to the manufacturers website and download whatever is newest. That CD you have may be 6 months old.
But that will work for now.

Ok thanks dude you're a amazing help , one last thing so will I just format the hard drive :) get rid of old os

If there is nothing on that drive you need anymore:
Open up Disk Management
Delete ALL existing partitions.
Create one new large partition
Format
Give it a drive letter.

Went onto disk management I see disk 0 and disk 1 , 0 is ssd and 1 is hdd. Both have a system reserved thing beside it and beside that is their drive letter do I just right click the hdd and format it

Hey I just deleted to two volumes on the hdd now what

Right click it , then I click new simple volume, then do its max size. Now I'm confused it says assign the following drive letter then it lets me pic , also under that is says "mount in the following empty NTFS folder"??? Then underneath it says do not assign a driver letter or driver path? What do I do

Give it a drive letter, whichever you want and is available.
