As stated in title. I was sure to google my problem before I went online asking about it, and I tried some of the solutions they had. My microphone settings have been changed and unchanged, I looked for a driver update to no avail, uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them, no change, and the quiet from the microphone goes for every microphone, not just one. I'm going to need some help.
Thanks!

Even if you go for completely reinstalling windows you can save data by:

If you have multiple partitions (shown in windows as local disk C , D etc..) move important data to another partition than the one where windows is installed and when inside of windows setup only format the one that has the windows on it and reinstall it on the same one you formatted
Files should stay where you left them only with a new windows

Or just backing up the data on an external hdd or usb stick and completely formatting

Also make sure you download and store the network driver somewhere just in case winows doesn't find it automatically
Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- First is to start with uninstalling/reinstalling the Sound card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Sound Card driver.
- Next is to download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer site of the motherboard.
- If the same problem will persist do try adjusting some settings with the levels.
- Right click on the speaker icon and select Recording Devices.
- Right click again on the default Mic listed and select Properties.
- On the next screen click on Levels tab and set it to 100%.
- Click Apply and OK then test it again.
- If all these will not work try also rolling back the sound card driver and test it again.
- Lastly if all these will not last option would be to reinstall Windows 10.

All of the others up until reinstalling win10 had been done before this post. Will reinstalling the OS work like a factory reset? If so, what should I do to NOT delete everything in the process.

Two things you can do that will ensure you the sound levels back
Check if boost microphone gain and level options are maxed out in the recording devices properties.
or
Revert the driver to an older version that you were satisfied with
