Hi all,

I'm looking for a monitor that can be sharp enough in games and text and does not hurt the eyes. I'm fine with 1080p 60Hz and any colours-panels, but if others are better, please share too.

Please, if more than one, list all you know as i like to be able to choose in case i need.

Hope you can help me :) .
Thank you very much in advance 😉.

IF YOU NEED MORE INFO... Some background (can ignore if you want):

-Mine was a LG W2261V: was "fine".

-Tried an iiyama G-Master GB2488HSU-B3: weird colours and when the Sun hit it, it got "heated" having warmer colours; never had that on the LG, and iiyama support never answered so i returned it.

-HP 24w: was too blurry on games.

-LG 24MP59G-P: blurry too (maybe bacause i'm using a CRT now?)

-Achieved to "revive" the LG W2261V, and didn't notice it as blurry as the others.

-Had searched a lot but when i find an interesting one like the Asus vg245h, i read: "For gaming its just fine. Leaves a lot to be desired on regular browsing though", or, in other monitors: "my eyes started to hurt" or "tried X settings but my eyes still hurt". So seems pretty hard to find something "balanced".

We're going to need a budget for your monitor, where you're located and what your preferred site for purchase is...? Then we can move forward. In all honesty your eyes aren't the same for everyone else. You can try and generalize a product with reviews but in reality there are small details that are noticed by some and some that are not.

What sort of options do you have access to?

Didn't mention the budget because if it is worthy and is sharp and does not hurt my eyes (at least mine 😀 ) i think i could afford it or save if too expensive.
Also i tend to keep the monitors and PCs for a long time, so i think 1080p 60Hz, is enough for me.
And about the monitor hurting the eyes, if i see a review about that i prefer to avoid as i tend to have eye strain (and sometimes motion sickness, although i think it depends on the games).

About purchase site i will buy it on Amazon.es (Spain -i guess they'll have anything you can recommend-), as has the best warranty to return in case of problems.

Thanks for the answer 😉 .

Has anyone tried a "professional" monitor for games?
I have found this one: HP Z24nf G2 (Specs in pdf ) and seems it is focused to work but looking at the specs 5ms, 60Hz (75Hz not sure how) i don't know if it could perform well in games, as it seems to be "carefully" build.

I have found no reviews or comments about it, but maybe someone has some experience with professional monitors for games (i assume they must be sharp on text and don't "hurt" the eyes).

What type of connections does your video card have? If you use different connections it will look very different even on the same monitor.
The monitors that are good for people that have issues looking at screens for long time would be a higher refresh rate one with a blue color mode for reducing eye strain.

ASUS - VP249H is pretty good in price, is 75hz, and has lower blue light that should reduce eye strain.

Connections: 2xDVI-I, HDMI, 2x mini display port (pretty sure; it is an ASUS 6870 -yeah i have to buy a new PC xD-).

Not 100% sure after all that time but I think I used DVI on these 2 (HP 24w and LG 24MP59G-P ) i said were blurry, and also with my LG when i could "revive" it (as i said my LG w2261v was less blurry).
What should be the best connection to use for the best quality on text and games? I think i searched some time ago and read that the best connection was by DVI or Display port.

The ASUS - VP249H you recommend has only VGA and HDMI, if i am seeing the correct photo. Guess HDMI would be better in that case, right?

So i should look for low blue light and high refresh rates monitors? Guess all modern monitors include the first, right? Still unsure why some hurt the eyes as most should have this solved.

Feel free to recommend more expensive monitors (and cheaper too 😛 ) if you think they can be better. I prefer to have a good monitor as i plan to have it for the most possible time, and it is (one of?) the most important part(s).

Hope there were OLED monitors already as i think these could have all i want (TVs are too big and have "bad" input lag).

Thank you very much for the answer (and the time you spent :) ), and feel free to ask anything more 😉 .

EDIT: just in case i didn't say it too clear i don't mind TN panels if they are good-sharp with text and games, my LG was a TN and colours were not a problem at all 😉 .
